Quit 20 years ago
I smoked a peach a day for about 42 YEARS before I quit - Thank the Lord I quit as I was surprised when I was diagnosed with colon cancer 6 weeks later - All the medical professionals agreed my recovery was much easier and way faster being a non smoker - MDs now cant tell I ever smoked - Surviving colon cancer and cigarettes since The summer of 2011 and counting
Well done.
Neither my (third) wife or I I have smoked for over 20 years and feel much better for it.
When she had a heart attack and stent inserted 17 years ago, I researched rejection rates for stents and was concerned until the cardiologist said, "Don't worry, they're the smokers."
About 3 years ago my accountant for 20 years died of lung cancer. Damned inconvenient. I had tried to get him to quit after his father had gone the same way but he just didn't really want to bother to try.
The government makes so much money from tobacco tax, it is difficult to imagine things changing.
