RE:What is normal

Normal is what the majority does. That itself does not make it the only allowable way to observe living. The same as laws are made by the majority to disallow what they deem incorrect behaviors. Because something is not expressly permitted does not mean is is not. Nudity/naturalism is permitted unless stated. Social norms need to be learned. Training that nudity is bad is an incorrect teaching. As with all life, their are places and times for everything positive. Nudist/naturism is positive.

RE:What is normal

My take, normal is what society expects, conformity! I think nudity is complete natural in many common circumstances that are not normal to general society. Totally stupid to put clothes on to swim, as an example. Personally dont give a tinkers damn what society thinks is normal, I comply with the law cause I must, dont like it! Just a personality trait of my ISTP nature, I guess. Could be why I go lots of places barefoot when no one else is, it drives them nuts!

RE:What is normal

A lot of good points made here. Normal for me is like most of you, doing what I want how I want to do it. Nude is just a comfortable way to live.

RE:What is normal

Being abnormal makes me unique, working nude may not be normal in our society, but it's my normal since I work nude more than clothed. It may have been normal for Peter to work nude in his fishing boat, especially on warm nights. It was obviously normal for agriculture workers to work nude in those times as well, so normal it was never mentioned except being referred to once by Jesus. "Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes." Matt 24:18

The last word appears in different places as clothes or cloak so it could also mean only the outer layer.

RE:What is normal

Coming from the educational profession, normal or average is BS. If I plan to teach for the normal or average student I have failed at my job. What I may consider as normal or average does not apply to 99% of the students hence why I have to diversify my lessons and have planned adjustments at the ready. My point is normal or average does not exist. People who are not nudists and do not personally know any nudists may consider nudism to be unusual and that is fine. I consider CrossFit to be an unusual hobby but for some others, it is a major part of their life.

RE:What is normal

The best answer I have seen to this question is:
"Normal is a setting on the dryer."

RE:What is normal

What is a "normal" colour? Or a "normal" shade of gray? Go to a paint shop and you'll fid several shades of white paint!

One person's normal is like another person's "What the Heck". As nudists we are about as normal as a vegetarian, a fisherman, a train spotter, a stamp collector, a bee keeper, a bird spotter. It strikes me the only men who are considered "normal" drink beer and support a football team (and even they can't agree which one to support). Wouldn't life be boring if everyone was the same! And as nudists we are a protected minority (at least here in the UK).
