Hello Brothers and Sisters,
My name is Charles, I was sent my draft notice on 1 April 1969!! I immediately went an enlisted in the Navy on the delay entry program!! Went to boot camp in Great Lakes in Sept.!! My first duty station was USNS Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico 1970-1973, then to VP-5 at NAS Jacksonville 1973-1976, extended on sea duty for a carrier on the west coast got the Coral Sea out of Alameda 1976-1977, then back to NAS Jacksonville for shore duty 1977-1979, back to Coral Sea 1979-1983, NAS Alameda for shore duty 1983-1986, the Enterprise 1986-1989, and my last duty station was in the NavPro Office at McDonnell/Douglas/Boeing in St. Louis, Mo. from 1989-1991!! I retired in Sept 1991!!
Hello, I am a retired Chief Warrant Officer of the US Navy. I served 23 years from 1961 to 1984. My service started out in the surface Navy from 1961 through 1974 and included several tours on Aircraft Carriers in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets as well as an in-country tour in Vietnam. In 1974 I resigned my commission and got out and served in a Reserve Submarine Squadron until I re-entered active duty in my permanent grade of RMCS and went into the Submarine Service until I was Disability Retired in 1984 in the highest rank held (Chief Warrant Officer).
I had experimented with nudism and went to a few nude beaches throughout the world during my Naval Career, but officially became a nudist when I joined the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) in 1981 with my late wife. We had a second home for several years at the Sunny Sands Resort in Pearson Florida, which I sold after she died back in 2002. I have maintained my membership and am a Life Member of AANR to this day. I have not visited as many resorts in recent years due to being very busy with my involvement in various veterans organizations at the Local, State and National levels. I do still try to spend some time at either Cypress Cove Resort or Suwannee Valley Resort here in Florida when I get a chance.
Thanks, all of you, for your service.
Former Electrician's Mate (nuclear billet) aboard USS Bainbridge (CGN-25--thus my username). Boot Camp was Orlando, FL in spring 75, age 22 going on 23; EM "A" School was in Sandy Eggo, Naval Training Center. Nuclear Power School was Vallejo, CA, at Mare Island Naval Shipyard; finally, finished my training at the Nuclear Power Training Unit's Enterprise prototype (A1W reactors) at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Idaho Falls, ID.
Reported to the BillyB November 76, and did my six years total aboard her, leaving in March 81. Did 2 in the reserves, and kick myself I didn't do the other 12. I could use the extra cash to give my "mistress" (a Piper Cherokee airplane) the tender loving care. Mistress? Why, yes. Yes she is, because she is high maintenance, and extorts every spare penny I have.
Thanks again to all of my fellow vets. Some of you gave a lot more than I did.
Jim
Hi vets!
I'm Bryan! Spent 24 years in the Army as a pilot with 3 combat tours...Desert Storm, Afghanistan, and Iraq. I am a nudist, wife does not participate. I am looking for the comradery here that we had in the military, good people and great fun! I miss it but will leave to the youngin's. So glad this group! Looking forward to chatting and hopefully be able to link up one day! Be well and stay safe!
Well guess I'll finally give up a little info about me. Went in the Army Jan 1972 Basic Ft Jackson, then Armor training, Ft Knox..went to Germany instead of RVN. Germany was a great education!! Didn't really like the Military too much but loved the travel so I stayed on for 21 years, retiring in 93. And so there we are. Did 15 years as a military contractor, when I decided to call it quits and started full time retirement at 57.... And Loving it.
