The forbidden fruit

I believe we can trace the origins of nudity going back thousands of years to the days of the hunter / gatherers.
Theres a small percentage of our population that have this overwhelming desire to be nude.
Is it a physical manifestation of being totally and completely free? Is it to shun the pressures of society? Maybe Im over analyzing. Perhaps its just simply another form of self expression, similar to a tattoo.
I am sure there is a certain level of eroticism as well. Perhaps we all get a thrill of getting a glimpse of the forbidden fruit.
If you are more adventurous, perhaps it is not the forbidden fruit at all. Its simply a way to check out the goods before you make your decision.
Each and everyone of us have our own particular reason for embracing nudity. If you ask 100 people, you find 100 reasons.

Healthy bodies are objects of beauty as well as desire. Nudity doesn't always have to involve sex. Nudity and sex are both very beautiful.

For me its all encompassing. The freedom of being seen nude. The joy of seeing others nude. The desire to be nude is sometimes overwhelming. Its a need to not have to wear any clothes. Its a nessisity to be nude. I cant sleep unless Im nude now because Ive been doing it for so long. Its always been a part of me to be nude. I was never shy or ashamed to be seen nude. I loved seeing others nude as well. Seeing how my friends looked naked was and still is exciting for me. Its not erotic (all the time) its like unwrapping a gift and seeing what is on the inside. I dont know if its primal or where it comes from. But its always a joy, forbidden or not, I love it.

My cultural of origin is Swedish and it doesnt consider nudity sexual or a forbidden fruit. Nor is it particularly social but its more since we lack such genes. Given a choice between standing naked in front of a stranger and talking clothed to one, most Swedes would choose nudity. They are comfortable doing so at a public sauna, which is always naked and offers a rare place where sober people can talk without breaking cultural norms. I love nudity because I dont have to wear clothes. Granted, clothes are a great option compared hypothermia, but if theyre not necessary and the freedom from them is so wonderful, why even consider them?

Being fully clothed and covering our genitals specifically is something very new comparatively in human evolution and is very much part of some cultures and not others. For most of history, the idea of "forbidden fruit" simply did not exist. Our concept is bound up in the morality of religion and the conventions that go with it, for me it was a way to be fully happy with myself and others.
