Naked And Afraid uncensored?
The naked part really is just to get people to watch. The "uncensored" version is still censored." I don't get the point of them being naked. You can't watch totally naked on TV.
There ARE a couple of similar series filmed in Sweden and England that DO show full uncensored nudity. One of the shows was a dating show where several couples meet for a blind date completely nude and follows their dating experience to see who ends up with who by the end of the episode!
I'm against blurring anything. I've seen the naked dating shows and thought about if they need make up on their whole body and if they are cold onstage. They come out looking more vulnerable than erotic. On the other hand, they don't have to worry about stripes becoming blurry with naked participants.
In the US, it is titillation that sells, so if they can get more audience calling it uncensored even if that is a lie, then they will go with it. Blurring genitals is stupid and uninteresting. But I don't find reality TV in general to be very interesting. There is nothing "real" about these situations when there's a crew of camera, sound, light engineers all being fed and housed a few feet away. But a lot of people are entertained, so be it.
Just watched the show on the UK Channel 4, it's called Naked Attraction. And one half of it was about a gay guy choosing a date out of six naked guys. One thing this show does it's a great public boost to body positivity. None of the guys there was even close to a glossy sex model or porn star; penises were average to small, there were some pretty backsides, but overall guys next-door that looked and acted normal and shared the normal and perfectly clean human desire to be with someone. Sexual tastes were discussed in graphic, almost clinical detail, and without any hint of smutty vulgarity. And odd thing is, they did show them with their kit on afterwards, and to me at least, they all came across more natural and sincere, and different(!) when naked than when they hid behind their respective ideas of an attractive clothing style. The show almost took away all the romantic excitement from sex, made it mundane and boring almost, but it also stripped off the commercial glamour, and even though it was a kind of sex auction, the participants' only bidding power was what mother Nature had given them, their physical honesty. And in our modern world of so much sham for sale, this is to be commended.
Thank you for the post. I am saddened by blurred cocks. We all know whats there. This practice strengthens body shaming and lack of awareness. As you said the participants were more authentic with each other, just as Ive found nudists are during world naked bike rides, etc. As nudists, we really must not live under a rug. We must simply exist openly, legally, so others can understand we are normal. The more we are open, the more we are considered normal, the more rights we will garner.
I don't enjoy the blurred coverings of the contestants. It makes it both boring and frustrating to me. Why bother calling it naked... It should be called "afraid of being blurred beyond the camera crews..."
However if there are real shows that aren't censored, let me know of any links online, so as I can watch them if there not in Australia. Thanks from Aj...
