Grindr
For years, Grindr and other gay dating apps and websites were my only option to meet other men I could develop intimacy with. I lived in the suburbs, without a car for all of high school, and I sexually blossomed early high school.
I was confused and frustrated to not have options like my straight peers had. So many guys were in the closet and none of them came out. It was me and two other guys but there was little to no chemistry.
Then again, the culture of these dating apps is if you arent the perfect package then your pickings are slim. It created a lack economy for a long time in my life. At 19/20 I went through my true adolescence in regards to dating and meeting men who I could be intimate with - not just for sex but also for intimacy and connection.
Grindr and other apps like it get a very bad rap, but for a long time they were my only option and I grew up frustrated confused and lonely.
I think for some, they are a necessary evil, and harsh judgement should be reconsidered due to an individuals circumstance.
Is Grindr just an app? Or is it an online dating thing? Whatever; any media that helps you to meet others who share your needs and interests must be a good thing, surely. You just have to be careful and stay safe until you get to know new partners.

Grindr is a geo-targeting dating app.It is the most popular gay dating app; it would be difficult to find a gay man who has never downloaded or experimented with Grindr at least once. One of the main issues with the app is the high volume of fake profiles. I find it hard to meet true nudists there but I could be wrong. Glad that Grindr helped some of our members here.
