A nudist South American?

I was born in a big city of a Caribbean country but I grew up in a very natural environment at a suburban place where nature was part of my day to day, a part of me. Walking in the woods, climbing trees, running bare foot in the grass...
I used to enjoy sunbathing nude since I was 9 or 10 in the roof where nobody would see me.
This I didn't learn from nobody that I know of.
Actually, on the contrary, my dad would not allow me to be in the house without a shirt on.
Most of South American countries are very prudish/catholic society.

I was lucky to have friends in my high school days, that where descendants from German immigrants. They clearly had a more relaxed view on nudism. These friends had a house near the beach, up on a hill. Basically, a corridor with rooms on one side and a full windowless view of the body of water down below. Fantastic simple place made by my friend's father, that we would help to maintain. The outdoor shower was a delight after a long day of boating, beach walks, water sky and cleaning all the gear at the end of the day.
Showering nude at the top of the hill with that view was quite something. Nobody wanted to use the indoor facility.
Also, skinny dipping at night was amazing. Some days we would have glow in the dark plankton for special effects. How I miss those days!

I have always enjoyed nature and best if there's nothing between me and Mother Earth.

When I was 25 I was in charge of a small marina in Lake Fairview, Orlando.
That summer I would go back at night to sail naked.

When I moved to Barcelona with my wife in 2000, I discovered a nude beach right in the middle of the city. It made me want to join all this people. Meet others with the same mindset. So I joined the Club Catala de Naturisme.
Unfortunately, my wife tried it out and didn't like it. She was brought up differently. She's more of a city girl. A fashion designer! So, clothes and fabrics are her life. Now we are separating. Feels like a defeat on one side but a relieve on the other.

We moved to The Netherlands 6 years ago. Nudity is slightly different here than in Spain. Most wellness places are clothes free and people don't necessarily consider themselves nudists nor naturists for enjoying that.

Also had some awkward experiences where some men stare at you while they touch or even masturbate, but it makes you feel kind of special, and if are uncomfortable, is enough to just look away. Nobody will get down on you if you don't want.

I love being naked in a social environment, whether relaxing and chatting at a wellness facility or doing some sports. Its just liberating!
I'm a nudist (with a bit of exhibitionism) but I would like to become more of a naturist.

RE:A nudist South American?

Hi Edward! Your high school days with your friends and the beach house sound idyllic! You have traveled a lot too. I've been to Barcelona while on holiday in Sitges, but I didn't get to visit the nudist beach. We went to the clothes optional beach in Sitges every day instead. I wish more countries were as liberated regarding social nudity as Spain and the Netherlands!
