What steps should one take for added Hygiene?

Showers are a definite, as well as no
peeing!!

We use bromine in our as chlorine breaks down rapidly at higher temperatures
and does not sustain its disinfecting ability

An ozone generator plus copper embeded in your filter is a good idea.
But of course no nasty swimsuits. LOL

I switched to mineral salt water with a drop in chlorine generator a couple of years ago after using straight chlorine for 10+ years. Once I had the correct salt level and other balances, I didn't have to adjust anything except adding about a cup of salt over the summer season. I do add 2 tablespoons of a Non-chlorine Oxidizing Shock once a week that keeps the water clear.

The only issue I've had is salt is hard on heater elements. Had to switch to a titanium element that resists corrosion.
