You make some good points, Dave, especially in regard to lighting, composition, not appeaaring "posed" and looking at others' work.
I'd like to elaborate a bit on lighting, especially when it comes to outdoor nude photos. I we all have a natural tendency is to want to do our nude outdoor photoshoots on a beautiful sunny day. Caution: especially with nude bodies, full sun creates harsh shadows that can exaggerate any bodily flaws we might have, such as lines in our faces or that telltale "crease" below our stomachs, which can show up looking worse than they really are. Better doing outdoor nude photography under slightly overcast conditions, which will soften the light so it "caresses" the nude subject and will make for an overall better photo.
You also mention using "props", a wineglass being one (and one of my favorites!) Below are some of my wineglass photos--note that some are frontal, rear, side view or from slightly below, etc. making each one different.
Hi Luc! You are so right about the 'belly crease' in strong sunlight! I've had to 'paint' mine out a few times on the computer! (Maybe it's time I started using a soft-focus filter). You can pose with your back to the sun if you use a reflector to bounce the light back onto your front.
I like your 'wine glass' pics; the one with the pizza looks particularly cheery!
Regarding your profile, I remember the film 'Garden of Eden'; I was nine or ten, I think (I never had any bother getting into adult films at my local movie theatre when I was still in junior school. The lady in the box office was surprised one day when I slipped up and confessed my age, as she thought I was older). I had read about 'nudist camps' in the Sunday newspapers, and more than my curiosity was aroused!
I'm fortunate to have a partially-secluded garden in which to pose and sunbathe. I love to walk outside naked with my breakfast, when the sun is pushing back the shadows.
