The use of nudity in my writing lately
I've noticed that i've actually been using scenes with nudity more often than I used to, almost always in a non-sexual way and normally to help enforce a characters exposure to the world around them.
My one character, a forest spirit, is nude at all times since he has no reason to wear clothes. He never hides who he is, and it does make it awkward for the main character in the story to approach him at first since he's so different from everything she's ever known.
The other main one is in my horror novel, They Hunt (it's actually available as an E-book and a physical release through both Amazon and Kobo, horray for finally publishing) where the main characters end up being stripped down while in the woods. They're alone with a tribe of unknown creatures that took them away from a summer camp, and how they react to the situation differs greatly; the boy is more frightened by it, while the girl finds herself numb to the whole thing. It also gave me a good way to explain textures since they'd be feeling everything with their whole bodies, not just their hands.
It would be interesting to let your audience feel the nudity in your words without repeating in every page that the characters are undressed. Allowing a reader to dress them up following his/her own shame adds another level to the narrative.
