Yorkshire Dales - Uldale Waterfalls

This was a fantastic walk found by TN member cumbriaguy, who had done the walk several times in the past. We met up in a parking area next to the road, right at the start of the walk. We did this mid week and the car park only had a couple of other cars in it.

We were cautious for most of the walk to the falls as it was a beautiful day and we expected other people to be doing the walk. We probably got naked for the last quarter of the route to the waterfalls. We got dressed just before we reached the first of the falls. Which was lucky as we met a couple at the first of the falls. We asked them if they had seen anyone else and they said no. So we carried on to the main falls, which is the end of the walk and didn't think twice about stripping off and skinny dipping. Spent ages naked at the falls and I went swimming 3 times. Got dressed to walk back as all the swimming got me shivering! After a few minutes walking in the sun we stripped off and walked most of the route back naked. Only got dressed when we thought we saw a dog walker (which was not for long) and when we got closer to the car.

It was a fantastic walk, easy navigation and pretty easy hiking. There can be a little bit of scrambling if you are waking down by the water's edge or if you are on the wrong side of the stream. I can't recommend this walk enough and a huge thanks to cumbriaguy for showing me the walk.

It's a well documented route, and so I was very surprised we met so few people there on a beautiful day in the school holidays. I would suggest the more cars in the car park, the more cautious you would need to be on the walk.
