Rochdale - Rishworth Moor - Dog Hill.
I did a couple of walks today. The forecast was full sun from 11am. But as you can see at 2pm it was still black cloud and spitting rain and 15 degrees with 2 degrees wild chill ! The first walk was busy but this dog hill walk was deserted and by 5 pm there was some hazy sunny spells allowing some naked walking. It is hard to believe it is mid summer !
The parking spot (marked as the start of the walk) was big enough for 4 cars. Then there is some uphill road walking to get to the real start of the walk which is a farmers road on the right. You are following a farm road for the first part and then a pretty obvious path. So the route finding is pretty easy. When I got to dog hill the obvious path heads down towards the lake. If you want to walk further I would suggest you take that route. There was no path to the cat stones and so I walked across the moors to try and find them out of curiosity. But it was much harder walking and very wet in places. And even when the GPS said I was on top of the cat stones, I couldn't see anything.
Generally nice views of the surrounding area and lakes and would have been a good walk if the weather had been kinder
