San Onofre State Beach, Trail 6. San Diego County, CA
So I visit this beach quite often. All summer long it was about 2 to 3 times a week. Sometimes to surf and sometimes to just hangout and get a tan. North of the fence that divides the state beach and Camp Pendleton is still illegal to be nude. This has not changed though I have seen some people brave enough to hang out nude here. Usually behind a bush so rangers cant seem them. South of the fence is where everyone goes. Now I have heard of the MP giving out citations but I have yet to see any MP. I have been there for hours and have seen no MP. I ha e seen the marine abut they leave everyone alone. The vibe here is chill but the further south you go the more you will see as in people hooking up. Mostly gays hooking up. If you stay close to the fence area you are fine and people leave you alone. I have seen a few people walk south of the fence fully dressed and had no intention of getting undressed.

Again... one of the perils of being nude and finding a place where we can call our own and be left alone.
It was one of the mysteries surrounding San O, Trail 6 that I talked about, in length, to male and female rangers on the beach when that section of beach was well populated during the week and even more so on the weekends. WHY do the clothed beach goers venture down to that area where there are nude people and then complain about it? Luckily, all the rangers we talked to stated that they tell people, "if you don't want to see naked people, don't walk down that way!" They may have just been giving me lip service! hahaha
Now you say the clothed are venturing down south of the fence line... will they or are they complaining about it to authorities, as well? Who knows, only time will tell if the Marine presence increases and citations are issued. Hoping I can convince my wife to make a trip down there soon. I'd love to check it out myself and see what is happening. But I fear that she's still concerned about being cited so she may not go nude but I will!
Do you feel comfortable being naked from out under an umbrella or cover and going for a walk nude while south of the fence line?
