I'm told that alcohol is a good antiviral but it has to be more than 40%. Of course I take it internally in the form of a good single malt scotch whisky. Being over 70 I'm in a higher risk group for coronavirus. So I'll have to keep taking the medicine.

One can never be too careful! Remember, always consult a physician before consuming enough alcohol to do really stupid things.

I also hear the higher proof elixirs can increase courage 7-fold! 60% alcohol seems to be the going rate for having real germicidal effects. That's some hot whiskey but it is out there! Look for Barrel Proof!

It has some nice side effects though: it tends to make my wife's clothes fall off.

Haha. Whiskey seems to cure all ailments.

Well, I don't know if alcohol is an antiviral, but I do know that hard liquor is fairly safe to "share" with someone - like when people are passing around a flask of whisky or other hard liquor, it is less of a worry for germs because of the alcohol. I mean, this has been traditional thinking for many years, at least. I'm not in the medical field, so I can't say for sure. In some Churches, the sacramental wine has alcohol in it, so parishioners drink out of the same silver chalice, with the pastor just wiping it between each person who takes a sip. But I wouldn't do any of these things if I had so much as the common cold, let alone COVID-19.
