Churchill's Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

This book, by Giles Minton, who also has a podcast, entitled Unknown History, tells a story of a top-secret organization founded in London who purpose was to plot the destruction of Hitler's war machine through acts of sabotage. Churchill realized early on that Great Britain couldn't compete with Germany in the number of men and war machines it could field, so he called on a group of mavericks to design a campaign of guerilla warfare that would enable them to halt the progress of the Nazis until they could build up their own capabilities and convince the United States to enter the war as an ally.
The book shows what can happen when a group of minds are allowed to flow unfettered by the constraints of "gentlemanly rules of warfare" in implementing unconventional weapons and tactics. It also recounts the resistance that they met by the Establishment who were appalled by this not playing by the rules approach to warfare.
