New here and certainly old question of mine

Hello everyone.
We are from Israel. In those Covid-19 times, we are locked at home. No possibility to go to the beach.
So we are left with the balcony trying to catch some no stripes tan.
We are at the 8 the floor with a neighbor at the penthouse above us. I suppose he has a limited view of our balcony.
I am sure this has been debated here, but, out of laziness, I am asking what is the most esthetic way to be shielded from neighbors line of sight.

With love

Yael and Martin

An umbrella or maybe just don't worry about it - it is your private deck. Let them look. Might want to join ya.

I had a balcony similar to the one you show. I successfully used a tan shade cloth attached to the inside top of the railing. I could unroll it when I wanted privacy (or to protect my neighbors). When I wasn't using it, I would roll it up to the top and secure with some bungee cords. I think esthetic depends a lot on how much you are allowed to modify the structure -- and your budget. :-)
Unfortunately, I don't have pictures anymore that show how I constructed it. The material I used was similar to this one on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Windscreen4less-Brown-Sunblock-Shade-Fabric/dp/B015D2WWVE/ although I used less % UV protection. The lower value provided better see through (for me looking out). Just be aware of back lighting if you use it after dusk.
