Covid Anomoly

Clothing is not considered an essential purchases even though we are for the most part required to wear it whenever we are in a public place.
Does that seem strange to anyone beside me?

No one is saying clothing is not important, they are saying that in a crisis no one needs to be out browsing the racks. Unless your house just burned down you probably don't "need" to buy a stitch of clothing for the next year or two. Conversely, very few people can go long without buying groceries.

While I do have more clothing than I need and could probably go a year or so without buying any, I do know some people on this forum and elsewhere who have reduced their wardrobe to the absolute minimum and if anything wore out or got ruined, it would have go be replaced quickly.

Then they can order it online. For now, I support clothing stores being closed to shoppers. It is not an essential business.

I worry about the economic impact too but that's a moot point if this disease gets any more out of control.

Something that I've heard nothing of is the economic impact of severe illness or death.

Who needs clothing during a lockdown? If this quarantine goes on much longer, Im going to forget how to do laundry. LOL. Everyone should be at home naked and sewing mask for those in need.
Using cut-up unnecessary clothing?

I might be one of those people. I have two wash days each week and nudity is obligatory on those days - everything is in the wash.

You were one of the people I had in mind when I made the comment.
