Nudity in the news: nebraska deputy stops pickup truck full of naked people.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) Lancaster County authorities say a deputy
investigating a suspicious vehicle near Lincoln got a surprise when
he stopped a pickup truck all four people inside were naked.
The Lincoln Journal Star says the deputy stopped the truck early
last Saturday. The sheriff's office says the deputy noticed a
strong smell of alcohol as he approached the truck. In the bed, he
found clothes. In the truck were two men and two women, all
naked.

The driver, Nickolus Borgman, of Denton, was arrested on
suspicion of drunken driving and other violations. The others
weren't cited.
Nebraska's online court system doesn't list an attorney for
Borgman. Court records show he was released from jail on $40,000
bond. An online search shows no phone listing for him in the Denton
area.

Wonder if they provided a 'towel' to sit on while taking him to jail ? That would be the polite thing to do for a nudist. (Of course, that assumes he is actually a nudist and not just some drunk idiot.)
Sounds like awfully high bail when they don't even know if they were drinking before driving or after they parked there. What I would have expected to see is all four getting charged with public intoxication if too drunk to drive.
A state trooper friend once stopped a truck for speeding, found nude couple in back of truck. He just ticked driver for speeding.
It did say he was cited for drunk driving and other violations (but we don't know what those were or his previous history). Being behind the wheel of a car and drunk is considered drunk driving. It doesn't matter if you've hit the road or not. It's kinda sad when folks make the right decision to sleep it off and get arrested for it anyway, but that's the way the law is written pretty much everywhere. But I've known judges to reduce the charge when they were intentionally trying to sleep it off instead of driving drunk.
I agree though, nice that the officer let the others go. After they got their clothes out of the bed of the truck and got dressed I'm sure.
