FLAG the new fake profiles
I get FRs from fake female profiles all the time. I FLAG them as fake over and over.
I would love to see all certified people FLAG the fake profiles every day over and over.
If you have questions on how to determine a fake profile drop into our Certified only chat room and chat about it.
Hope to see you there and add some new topics to discuss.

It does work to flag, as once the threshold is met by members flagging a particular profile the system automatically removes the profile, no human needs to push a button. The problem as fast as the profile is removed a new one is created. The solution would be to have a Mod approve a profile before going live, but then that would be cumbersome, expensive, and slow.
I am all about flagging these bot accounts, and then i BLOCK them. Some people have way too much dickful thinking because I see people in my feed adding them as friends. They are pretty easy to spot... a new profile with little information and one picture of a cute 20-something is definitely not a real person.
I get quite a few PM's and FR that are obvious fakes. I normally just block them but I'll start to flag them as well. I'd just like to add that this is not a problem unique to the TN website. Pretty much all internet websites have to deal with this sort of thing. Unfortunately policing this problem would be a full time job and I imagine the site mods just don't have the time to do it. The automated system of flagging/removing is a good idea so count me in.
While one "solution would be to have a Mod approve a profile before going live," another solution would be to restrict Friend Requests to certified and/or paying members. I know some have suggested similarly restricting DMs and forum posts, but I wouldn't go so far; it seems that there is less abuse of these feautures, and they have been useful in educating and encouraging sincere newbies. Chat and blogs? I don't chat online so I am not qualified to opine, and while there have been offensive blogs, it is usually quite easy to avoid reading them. But in the meantime, as users, we certainly can (and should) keeping flagging those annoying fake profiles.
