Air Fryer
I have a Cuisinart air fryer toaster oven and I've never hated an appliance more, which is kinda disturbing that I even have feelings this strong about an appliance. LOL. Maybe it's all the meals I've ruined at crucial moments when I'm hungry, drunk, and it's too late to order anything. But it burns everything in every mode.
But no for real, I have the Cuisinart model with all the reviews on Amazon. Most people love it, but a few of the units ship with faulty thermometers. I finally did a series of tests to figure out indeed the internal thermostat was off by 55-60! No wonder everything get's obliterated. Now that I know that, I can compensate, but still. It's crazy to cook at 350 you have to set it around 290-ish... which is impossible because the dial isn't very clear about what temp you are on. I also hate the timer thing... also not accurate and unclear what it's really set to.
By the time I figured this all out it was well past return policy time, it was an Xmas gift anyway. I have no receipts. But I do for sure hate this thing. Maybe there is something to air-frying, but after trying all the air-fry classics and everything coming out burned, I'm kinda done with the concept. Like, I'm kinda mad at myself for writing a three paragraph response on a nudist website about an air fryer in the first place, but that's where we are right now. Screaming into the void. LOL
I have a Farberware Toaster, oven, broiler, air fryer combo and I love it! My old toaster oven was getting a bit nasty inside. I looked at the Cuisinart but it was bigger and a lot more expensive. The Farberware one can be bought for $70 at Walmart. I found this out after paying $85 online, but I guess it was worth the extra $15 to not have to go to Walmart. This thing does chicken wings to perfection and is so much easier than dragging out the deep fryer and cleaning it afterwards. And since it uses less oil it is dare I say Healthier, or at least less deadly. Since it has convection bake and broiler features, I use it for just about anything. Well worth the price.

Sounds like a bad case of naked drunk dialing. I feel for you, brother!
I have both an air fryer and a traditional countertop convection oven. I prefer the air fryer, mainly because it has a digital display where I can accurately control the time and temperature, rather than fidgeting with the manual dials on the convection. But, I'll admit, the convection is sometimes easier to clean. I use it primarily for fries and fish, and I've had good results from hot dogs also.
I researched these a year ago, decided to pass and after reading some reviews I'll pass again. My main issue is space and needing to experiment my way forward. Like most user manuals, the times don't seem accurate. At least that's what a lengthy review of the Ninja Foodi Grill on youtube says. Overall they seem more splatterproof for cooking without clothes than a traditional stove top, gotta give em that going for them!
We bought one around Christmas last year, it was on sale and an additional 70% off coupon. It's a Black & Decker Toaster / Convection oven / Air Fryer. A regular toaster does a much better and quicker job for toasting. As a convection oven it seems to burn / under cook in areas. Now for air frying. I have to say a was a bit impressed with some items, though using the basket lets a lot of oil and juices drip down on the heating elements. Once I just happened to look over and stopped a fire in it as it was just starting. I haven't used it much since then.
I am a bit leery of getting one. My neighbors used theirs to do some fish and fries and went outside to eat. Both happened to be facing away from their home . I heard her yelling and looked up to see smoke pouring from their back door. I ran over with my fire extinguisher and then went around the neighborhood rounding up more. The homeowner was trying to put it out with a garden hose and the extinguishers we handed him through the open door before the fire department got there. They have determined that the newly purchased air fryer bought from a place that sells refurbished ones shorted out and ignited the kitchen counter area. Flames were fueled by bottles of liquor falling from the shelf above. That was near the end of July and they are still not back in the place. It pretty well needed gutted and rebuilt.
