Media Permissions in Groups?
Hello Group. This may not be the best place to post this question. If not, please refer me to a better forum / blog.
So, I am wondering about the hierarchy of media permissions. Most of my media is original and set for Certified Only or Certified Friends Only. Obviously that applies to anyone reading my profile. Do those same permissions continue to apply if I post media to a Group I belong to? Or do the Group's media permissions (usually members only for private groups) override my personal permissions. For example, if I post a "Certified Only" photo to a group, would a non-certified member of the group be able to view the photo by virtue of group membership (thus bypassing my preferences)?
Thanks in advanced for your input!
P.S. I think I gained some insight. I notice that most (all?) media posted in this group are marked "Certified Friends Only". If I click on the photo it opens right up even though I am not the users "friend". I need to browse photos in other groups that do not require Certification to join.
When you post to a group the restriction is lifted but the subtitle will state Certified friends. So any member of the group can see your picture.
In Groups, membership replaces the "certified" requirement. Most, if not all, groups require you to be a member of the group to view the media posted to the groups gallery. Group membership may (private group) or may not (public group) require a moderator to approve your membership.

If you post a pic to a group it is direct from your computer. Profile settings or restrictions do not apply (as it is by-passed). Who can then see your pics depends on the group settings. And sometimes a pic posted on a group is more public than one in a member's profile.
Thanks for the helpful feed back. The fact media is uploaded from computer, not existing member account, explains it to me. It is an entirely new upload from TN perspective subject to the target rules - personal profile versus group profile.
