KY has never had a nudist venue, no matter how hard we tried. Though there was a bed and breakfast open in the western part of the state for a year or so. I think they had to stop advertising nudity because I haven't heard a single thing from them in years. Other than that, every attempt to open a resort, no matter how remote the location, has been met with permanent denial.
If you know something I don't please pass it on as there are several friends of mine still in KY that gather as a travel club.
Thanks

I replied to Mutant's post, but apparently the forum didn't register it. In response to his statement that the only remaining nudist venue in Tennessee being somewhat excluding to outsiders, I said:
"I'm sorry you feel the one south of Nashville is excluding. The couple of times I've been there, I was well-received and had no trouble finding people to talk to."
Sorry to confuse anyone.
That's interesting to hear about Timberland, although one wonders what the purpose of the age limit might be.
Although I've never heard anything at RH about a required membership for locals, I have heard of clubs doing that and I must admit that is, at best, an irritation and highly inconsiderate of folks like us who can barely afford (in terms of timeand money)to show up at all, let alone afford a $200+ membership and/or come often enough to make it worthwhile. I'm sorry to hear they haven't returned your emails or calls, though. I almost always get a response within a day or so, so that's strange.
Timberline in East Tennessee will be reopening this month. This was just announced by the new owners. A bit of controversy has erupted over their decision to restrict visitors to 21 and older. Rock Haven is likelya fine place. I've just sent several emails and made a few phone calls and I have yet to receive any response. I had planned to visit this week, but I suppose that will not be happening. I understand that locals must pay for a full membership after three visits, and that is, unfortunately, notinmy budget.
I really think it is a mistake when clubs institute a 21 year and up age policy. Regardless of what the intent is behind doing so, I think a lot of people would assume that the reason is because they intend to promote a less than wholesome, traditional nudist atmosphere which might be totally wrong. Still it could cause people to believe that and avoid the club or from the other perspective, attract the wrong type of visitors. They should at least publicize their reason for the policy.
