Still struggling to delete messages

Hi
I have tried every combination of ways to delete old messages. I have asked the Tech guys on TN and others on their contacts page
I have received several ticket numbers from them each time I ask the question.
I get a reply from TN saying they will reply within a few days with an answer. They never reply and have never given an answer.
I have followed other members who have contributed but each time the messages pop back. I have concluded that once the messages are there, then there is no way of deleting them.
Can any of the Mods assist with a method of satisfactory message deletion which will benefit many of the members asking the same question.
What is the point of having a delete facility on the message if it does not function ?
