To tan or not to tan
I've been accused of not being a "dedicated" nudist because I slap on tons of sunscreen when I go nude outdoors. So I thought I'd ask the opinion of others. Do you have to be tanned to be a true nudist? I've worked in medicine for over 30 years and have seen first hand the devastating effects of skin cancer. I feel tanning and health choices are a personal decision, so I leave it up to the individual to decide if the want to tan and how much. Am I wrong?

Of course you don't have to be tan to be a truenudist! I protect myself as well when I go outside!

No tan lines here, Dokfixer. But no tan at all on me. I'm just extremely fair skinned and have had skin cancer, so you'll never see me tanning which meansI'm blindingly white! And darn proud of it too.

Personally I like having an all over tan and I am not all that happy about spreading a lot of chemicals on my body. I just take it easy in the sun by gradually tanning. I take it easy in the beginning and dont just sit and bake in the sun during its peak periods.

Never forget that the Sun is the best way to get your daily Vitamin D, which is necessary to fight Cancer.

I love being outside nude but, I burn real easy so I have to watch how long I stay out in the sun. Wish I tanned easier. But me and sunscreen are good friends.

I definitely don't lay out and tan. I usually put on sunscreen before spending any time outdoors. I really need to apply it to my face after washing every day.
I am a genuine nudist and have been for over 40 years.

Not having 'tan lines' is just a wonderful side benefit of being a nudist. Personally, I enjoy a good healthy tan gained from time relaxing at the beach or poolside.

Watch this summer! NASA has reported increased solar flare activity. Studies have co-related sunspot activity to incidence of skin cancer.

A tanning bed's rays go to the lower tissue levels and is more intense than the sun...this is stated by medical professionals.
