Does anyone think the way the car/truck is perceived as being normal to be shirtless in would make a difference? Work trucks, Jeeps and some convertibles you don't think twice about seeing someone topless, but a luxury car or fancy sport car the person might look more out of place and thus draw more attention.
I do seem to get more strange looks when driving the minivan shirtless than my convertible.

That does seem to make sense. Shirtless in a luxury sedan would definitely draw more attention than in an older pickup. Seeing shirtless guys in an old pickup just seems normal.
Within 50 miles of a beach on a warm/hot summer's day, no one's going to think anything about seeing a shirtless man in a convertible -- sports car or otherwise.
I drove my mustang with the top down from Pasadena to Palmdale through the mountains. All was well until I got behind a fire crew truck. Foma;;y I just gave u p and tried to blast around it. That was a slow blast because the hill was steep. Don't now if I was seen. The fireman driver didn't honk..
I've driven in my ford pickup and my Dodge Caravan. Don't care if someone sees me. As long as it isn't the police! You can drive easier by a beach without a shirt on. Who will know you don't have pants on! Cheers!
I drive a convertible so it would be easy for someone to know I didn't have shorts on, so I don't drive nude.

You are a lot more daring that I am to drive like that in a convertible!

I drive almost everywhere shirtless when it is warm enough.
Just makes sense to me since I drive a convertible.
The talk about driving a convertible nude reminds me of a time I was driving from Los Angeles to San Diego to spend the day at Blacks Beach.
This was in the early 80s and I was driving a full size Dodge passenger van (nude of course).
Even though it was early in the morning on a weekend, traffic on the I-5 south was bumper to bumper.
There was a MG convertible in the lane to my left and slightly ahead of me.
As the temperature was starting to rise, I saw the driver remove his shirt.
By the motions I saw him make, I believe he also removed whatever he was wearing below the waist.
The reason I bring this up was that at one point I was right beside him but could not tell if he was nude because he had a large box on the passenger seat.
For those that own a convertible and want to drive nude you may want to consider looking into if this would work for your car.

Probably would help for those on the right.
Wouldn't do anything to block the view from the left.

Or vice versa in the UK.
I have two vehicles I drive - a RAM truck and a Benz e-class and often drive naked in both. I definitely prefer being naked in the truck and always keep a small towel or tshirt close by. I just drove from Delaware to Florida and spent a good amount of time naked.
