I never asked my sons what I should or shouldn't wear. I they told me that I shouldn't be wearing something that I was wearing, I would tell them that if they didn't like it I would take it off immediately and they learned to stop making comments.

Why not? Not all women in Germany are shaved. But it could be a merkin. It looks unnatural. Maybe a reqirement of the TV station.
