My first clandestine night-time stroll

With warmer weather upon us deep downunder (Melbourne) and with me reading these daring stories on TN, I finally got around to taking a local night-time stroll wearing less than I'm supposed to.

A large local park is not too far away and features many walking paths, some in the open and some through wooded areas. Getting there on foot through suburban streets took a little while, wearing my thongs (flip-flops), tee shirt & loose shorts (the shorts were a story in themselves as they set out to betray me) but once there I explored a few paths in solitude and near total darkness. The first part was near a neighbouring development, empty but with a few lights (and a security patrol vehicle at one stage) so I was cautious for that part but around the corner was a path leading through bushland.

At first I just carried my clothes but then took the opportunity to set them down by a tree and just walk. The paths were only short before connecting with others in open areas but extremely pleasant none-the-less. I ventured a little into the open area with care, avoiding the park driveway but possibly not the security camera on the nearby toilet block. I returned, dressed and continued along the main open trail to a pond deeper in the park, still seeing no one.

When the time came to retrace my steps I was a little more bold but the occasional noise and lights in the distance had me wondering if I might encounter a pedestrian, cyclist or even an unlikely park management vehicle. There were none and at least my ensemble was easy to take on and off...

As I reached the wooded trail, I was again tempted to walk it, but this time left my clothes near the start of the section rather than part way in. It was still pleasant but there were lights traversing the driveway as I got to the far end, perhaps the cafe proprietor leaving for the day.

I was only about 10m from the clearing and my clothes stash when I realised my clandestine stroll was not going to be witness-free. A figure clad entirely in black (so very Melbourne) appeared so suddenly from the darkness on a slight curve, that all I had time for was to move to the left to pass as we crossed paths. Not even a greeting as we passed, which I may have attempted with more warning. I am sure he (I think) had just enough time to take in my appearance as I did his. If there was any reaction to my un-dress (or my bold-and-shiny adornment) I was not able to perceive it.

I then walked home with no obvious search parties in the vicinity and no other notable incidents apart from my shorts continuing to attempt to betray me.

Sounds like a great walk. Oh the feeling of being naked at night. I wish that I would see someone else out naked. Good luck on your next trip. Just wondering what the story is about your shorts.

Great story Steve. I imagine your dark clad night walker was in shock as most textiles are when passing a naked man out in public and secondly a naked man with something shiny around his........ I can just imagine the story they had to tell friends. You should be prepared to meet more next walk as they will be out waiting to see the shiny naked man walk by! On the three occasions I had this happen to me each one was totally speechless. One stopped (male) and just stared as in dis-belief, the other two each females, just kept walking as if this did not just happen, possibly worried the naked man was out naked for other reasons that included them which turned out not to be the case! Generally I stick to neighborhood areas. Most here are asleep, except the dogs! Parks are generally monitored and after dark here in the US usually attract a plethora of different people, most of whom you don't want to cross.

Of course, one can never get a proper impression of how one looks to others in such a situation. Viewing oneself in a bathroom mirror is very different to the view of an approaching stranger. I suspect that what little light there was on that moonless night was caught effectively but cannot be certain, just as I cannot be certain quite how much light is caught on a sunny afternoon - merely noticeable or like flashing a mirror? :-D
