$500. tax on nudism

your city passes a law that if you pay a $500. tax each year you are exempt from prosecution for being nude in your backyard, would you pay the tax. and yes for fun no privacy fence is required. oh i know someone will ask, it exempts everyone at the house.

NO !!

If the neighbors don't mind now, then it's a waste of money.
If the neighbors do mind, then you become the confrontational weirdo whether you pay for the "right" or not.
We're not going to win any converts by being in-your-face confrontational no matter what.
Better to use that same money and join the local resort.

i would pay it and i think for the most part it would show others nudism in a positive light, and yes there will always be pervs they are at nudist clubs and beaches but for the most part its a small minority. if i had the opportunity to enjoy my backyard i surely wouldn't jeopardize it for something that could be done by walking into the house. who know one neighbor than two than the whole block are nudist and yes the city is wealthier, kinda like if they would make a few local parks clothing optional with a parking fee, how many parks are closing in your area because the government dooesn't have the revenue than look at miami beach with haulover park.

There are several reasons I wouldn't.
First, I don't live in a city so a city ordinance would not affect me.
Second, the laws on nudity in Texas deal with in public. Even your front porch is considered private, the police can't arrest you for public intoxication for example if you are on your porch.

Third, if I had neighbors who would abe offended, I would not go nude. If they weren't, why should I have to pay more taxes.

Sounds tempting, but there are far too many people who get overly offended at nudity.....I'm not a nudist to offend people! Some will argue, but that's how I feel!

I pay property tax, I pay sales tax for clothing, I pay taxes for the plants in my garden and any landscaping materials I use. I'm sure as hell not going to pay a tax to not wear the clothes I already paid taxes on. I'd rather spend the money on fencing and screening plants. The damn city and state already get too much of my money.

Not so in Ohio.
Drunk on your own porch is public intoxication, for which one can be arrested, charged, and convicted.

There is that !
Self employed in the USA we start with 35% income, 15% social security, 2% self employment punishment tax, we're at 52% already, and we haven't even looked at state income tax, local income tax, property tax, something like 20% gasoline tax, 10% sales tax....

However, although he said tax, he explained it more as a fee to purchase a right. If voluntary, I'm opposed to nearly every tax as we're already taxed WAY too much. Heck, my school taxes alone are more than $100 per WEEK, and I don't even have kids !
