Will be visiting June 19-24 in Sunset Beach. Hope to rent a bike and get down to Bird every afternoon after 3pm.

Its a great place. Never biked but always have walked it. Don't know where you are staying so that might make a difference.
Its a wonderful beach. I'm sure you will enjoy your afternoons.
