Rock, I have one of those large cartridge type water filter on my camper and it works well. You might want to check the filter micron rating (size of the holes) and possibly go up one or two sizes. I am always concerned about the big stuff getting in the system and the larger micron (bigger hole & flow) will still get all that type of stuff. Just a thought. John
As an adder to the above post, I just changed the filter canister about two weeks ago. The old one had a slight drip at one end and when the other end started leaking also, a new one was installed. Our leak appears to be gone and the new filter is probably helping a little. I have also added the source water (hose bibb) filtration canister to the mix so our water should be as good as possible. As a note, I added a little bit of bleach to the water supply hose and flushed all the connections in the motorhome. I didnt have any funky goo coming through the motorhome sinks so it appears everything was in good shape. Thats always a good feeling.
Our motorhome has been in the shop for almost a month. The slide would not work. They found the problem and while there for that, we had them do several other things. Once it's back to us, we'll head to the club where we can do some naked repairs and upgrades. I need to replace the kitchen sink and faucet. I like working on our coach and being able to do it while naked is a real plus.
Well... we finally got the motorhome out of the repair facility. They had it for almost 3 months. Our slide won't extend or retract electrically. We've had to do it manually for the last couple of trips. It's a royal PITA!
We were thinking about selling it but found a place that will replace the entire system. We just have to justify the cost and how much we'll continue to use it. I still need tires as well. 3K for 6 tires, not including a spare. Probably 2500 for the slide replacement system. We have lots of other trips planned and this will eat into our travel budget. Still not sure what we'll do.
Ahhhh the love of RV ownership! hahaha
