Other than Swimming

I have seen posts elsewhere that up to the 1970s, some YMCAs were clothing optional in for many athletic activities, not just swimming.
Did anyone here experience this?

Were any athletic activities other than swimming clothing optional?

Swimming

As a boy, I took a bus into Camden NJ for swim lessons. We watched cartoons in an auditorium until they called our class. Then we stripped for the lesson. I remember seeing nude men reclining on chaise longues in the solarium.
Society didn't have a problem with nudity in the 1940s. Times have changed!

An older Y somewhat close to me still has a semi solarium for the men who use the 18+ locker room. I know the post was specific to athletic type of activities. As one of the other commets noted related to an former experience, this particular solarium is predominantly used nude.
