RE:Wilmington, NC ?Its not the beach but you have the Whispering Pines Resort in NC that is clothing optional. We were there a week ago. Nice place and friendly people. They have a website.

RE:Wilmington, NC ?Bird Island coastal reserve between Sunset Beach and the SC line has been known to have some discreet nude use. I have read that Masonboro Island has also seen some nude use, but is only accessible by boat or kayak
