Guys in the womens forum
Interesting that some guys feel the need to post questions in the womens forum when they could easily post in general and request reposes from women only. Even more interesting is the guys who answer the questions asked buy another guy on behalf of women.
If you ever wonder why "real" naturist women dont want to interact on here with guys or leave the site alogether consider that pattern. This is how the pattern was interpreted by one woman.I really dont care about your penis, the only person who seems to care about your penis is you. This is first and foremost a NUDIST side, and the fact that the first thing that comes up with nudity is "OOH THEY CAN SEE MY PEE PEE' and then the glorious tales are all about the genitals of course! Has it ever..I mean ever occured to you that the lack of women on this forum (or other forums for that matter) are the consequences of men jamming their penis questions in virtually every topic? Does it exite you, to talk about your penis? You get a kick out of it? Nudism isnt like this, it has nothing to do with genitals or even a focus on it. I might as well, start a forum about I should wear a ring on my left hand or my right hand? should I wear nailpolish too? what color? can I wear red nail polish when I'm nude? what you guys think? See how ridiculous you sound..Justwrap that penis into gift paper and send it to Guatamala, problems solved!Nina
If you sort topics by age, you can'teasily know what area you are in. That explains some of the responses, but not initial posts.
Maybe so but I learned from just that kind of scenario that after a response has been posted it shows the original forum. Then it was simple for me to click delete and remove my response if I was in a forum not designated for my gender.
If browsing on a phone sorted by 'Newest first' the category is not shown at all unless one selects the 'Back to topics' button at the bottom of the comments.
My suggestion is to make it clear in the post title that it's women-specific or take it to a suitable group.
What is hard to change is that the guys are keen to jump into any discussion or group whereas the women generally hold back a little. (I love when they participate - it's great to get wider perspectives.) Some that have spoken about it mention how much unsolicited male attention they receive for doing so. It only takes a few bad apples, but this place is a magnet for bad apples.
It is kind of odd isn't it! Most men just don't get what it is that makes women not want to be a part of the great freedom of nudity and partake greater in the nudie community!
What you mean most women dont want to be questioned about penis preferences. There's a novel idea.
Guys give every kind of excuse for dominating the conversation with women with the male perspective and male gaze.
One lady member summed it up quite well with this comment:
*I have no idea why they bother to have a Ladies chat forum on here. All I ever see are men asking and answering questions. This is why Women dont bother.*
That is the crux of the issue. We guys just need to leave it alone & learn from reading their responses. Do you think we can figure it out?
It really is a software problem that it's so easy to reply into a forum you don't mean to - or for that matter, into a group you don't belong to - depending on how you encounter the post.
But for sure, men's presence can disrupt conversation. It doesn't even have to be a particularly obnoxious guy.... Back in early-second-wave-feminist days, a number of women in my collective had organized a consciousness-raising group. One time, since I was around an we were not a real rules-based bunch, they invited me to join them. But halfway through, one of them noted "We aren't really talking to one another. We're all addressing ourselves to Steve." And it was true; somehow I had become the center of the conversation, even as I was trying, as a new member of the group and something of an outsider, to hold back.
There does need to be a women's forum, into which men don't - and can't - post. (Unless they're pretending to be women, something I suppose the site can't prevent unless its a certified-only women's forum.) I belong to other sites with restricted forums - a farmstay site with separate forums for hosts and guests; a gay nudist site with age-segregated forums. It's common enough. TN really needs to do this.
There are opportunities in groups to have more private discussions and limit who participates.
I can understand that it can be annoying to have too many off-topic threads, but also appreciate that people generally don't need to qualify to contribute. It all comes down to being respectful.
