Florida resort
The Lutz area will probably be your closest location. Or north of you too. Depending on what you enjoy too can make a difference. Some are more rustic, some are more fancy and some are more adult oriented. How far you willing to travel? Will it be overnight? There are a lot of good choices in Florida
I second this recommendation. Cypress Cove was the first Florida resort we had ever tried, We enjoyed it so much that we try to make it back every fall and spring. In fact we were just there a little over a week ago for a wonderful 5 day weekend. Oh By the way if you are an AANR member there is a coupon that comes with your membership that gives you a free nights stay in one of the villa's after staying for 2 nights. It is a really good deal. Best of luck!
Only visited two C/O resorts in FL, Caliente and Cypress Cove. Though Caliente was a bit more upscale, their preference for clientele was not to our liking. If you visit their website, you can understand why.
Regrettably, I visited CC alone. My wife and I were in Orlando at a conference for her work and was attending workshops. She told me to go check it out and I did. CC suits us much, much better than Caliente. We'd planned to go for the day but had to make a decision on CC or Disney World. We went to WDW and then flew home the next day.
CC is definitely on our list to return to and stay for at least a week. We'll undoubtedly try and visit Blind Creek Beach, Haulover Beach and other clothing optional places in FL. We plan a 2-3 week visit to the state in the near future.
Andy, before you make any plans, make sure the beaches are open if they on on your list. Just found out yesterday that our favorite beach Playalinda in Titusville on the Canaveral National Seashore was wiped out by hurricane Ian. Even it's sister beach at the north end of Canaveral Seashore is compromised. Don't know about Blind Creek.
We are not local, but we do head down to Cypress Cove every October for their Nude-a-Palooza concert weekend to end our summer season and have also started heading down to Lake Como every spring to begin our season. Before cruises we will also spend a couple of days at whichever resort is closer to our starting port the Cove for Port Canaveral and Como for Tampa. We would recommend either as a great first area resort to try. Each is about two hours away for you, which in the nudist world is basically considered local. Our home resort is about 90 minutes away from us and we consider that local.
The Cove is one of a small handful of very upscale resorts in the US so as mentioned above you will be spoiled with the services and amenities there, but if you are traveling to get there why not spoil yourself. Como is not as upscale, but it is still a large resort with plenty of amenities. It is a little greener than the Cove, with extensive hiking trails rather than paved streets covering most of the resort. It is also in the Lutz area where there are plenty of additional resorts nearby. Right next door are two more resorts: Paradise Pines on one side, which is a nude RV park, and Paradise Lakes on the other side, which is starting to drift more towards a Lifestyle (i.e. swinger) resort. It is also less than seven miles away from Caliente, another of the upscale resorts which drifted more towards a Lifestyle resort years ago.
Followed up a search on this topic and it brought me to this thread. I want to thank you all for the tips. Wife and I will be there starting in Miami in a couple of weeks. South Beach, Haulover, Key West will be the first stops. Trip isn't just a tour, it's a recon for future potential snowbird destination.
So besides the top pick, any other suggestions on Fla west coast outside the Sarasota area?
