One of my neighbors has seen me getting the mail nude and did not mind. On another day, he started to ask about living nude and a I told him about the nudist lifestyle. Now I sometimes see him getting the mail nude!
It doesnt surprise me that you would just head out to your garage naked. Your nudity is your normal and you behave normally as any clothed person would. Id of course join you naked but even if I didnt your nudity would never make me uncomfortable

My neighbor stopped by when I was in the backyard sauna one afternoon. I stepped out completely nude just as she came though the gate. We had a surprised moment, but laughed it off. She was bringing over strawberries from her garden to share, and we stood in the sun and ate them while we talked. For being fairly conservative, she was pretty curious about the nudist lifestyle!

From my limited experience, there seems to be little correlation between nudity and political persuasion.
Yesterday neighbor got home from lunch I was sitting in back. She told me to enjoy the sun. Then in the evening I went over and adjusted her motion lights for her. Just put a shirt on that didnt cover anything. Nice to have a laid back neighbor!
I am often nude on our second floor deck. It is somewhat protected by tree cover, but the two story houses behind us could see some parts of it from the bedroom windows. One time I was in the alley and one of the neighbors said hello and we chatted for a bit. At one point he commented that we have a very nice deck. I had to laugh to myself that it probably meant he had seen me, although he didn't say so.
As nudists most of us have probably been seen by neighbours, some of them will not say anything as maybe they feel they shouldn't have looked or seen us. However some will just shrug their shoulders and say whatever. Others may cause an issue.
A woman friend of my late wife visited once before illness came into our life, my wife and I were out in my sunning spot in our yard on a warm Saturday evening, she walked in and caught us, I was naked, my wife was not. She caught me another weekend when my wife was away and then has caught me a few times in the last 5 years.
She initially told us her dad was a nudist or was nude around the house so was raised that way, but I'm not sure, it doesn't matter anyway. She has said a few times she wishes she could do the same at her house over the road but her son still lives at home. I have said my yard is free, it's up to her, but maybe she doesn't want me to see her, don't know. We both have partners so nothing else is going on, so who knows. Our weather seems to be colling off here so maybe it won't be this summer / autumn.
Our former neighbor had a habit of knocking, opening the door to announce herself, and walking in,
She saw me several times in just underwear,
After the second time she saw me nude, she started to wait for one of us to open the door after she knocked,
