Selfies
I have never been good with selfies regardless of being nude or clothed. There's a disconnect between the image I see and what I feel like, but I assume it's all a part of the process of accepting who I am mind, body and soul. Has anyone else encountered this? What did you do to help yourself through it?
I set up a game camera used for wildlife photography and let it take pics of me over a couple of days as I went about normal activities. That gave me a benchmark of what I looked like when I wasn't posing. Later I set up a goPro sports camera and set it to take photos at time intervals. While it was active I placed myself in the field of view and concentrated on different aspects of my personality. Some pics worked, others not so much. Over time that experience taught me to stop trying to look like my thoughts and BE my thoughts. Meditation helps.
Selfies, especially nudes are very hard as you can be so critical of so many things in that photo. In nude selfies you have some mental image of what you want, and it takes many tries to get a photo close to that. After so many you get a little better at the photo and a little more accepting.
