Group Trip!
Hello Lake Powell Lovers,
Carl and I are thinking about getting a group together to enjoy Lake Powell this Summer. The water level is rising and the threat of damage to a boat has been dramatically reduced especially for the larger houseboats. Depending on the number of people who commit we will rent the boat and divide the costs accordingly...rent and fuel.
This would be a Sunday - Sunday rental. Rental rates drop in late August when the kids go back to school. We are thinking then or early September. The advantage is the super hot summer has passed and the A/C is not mandatory to be comfortable even nude like July and early August. Thereby saving fuel on not running the generator.
The food we could divide and take turns cooking. We would love to call Turtle Beach home for a week and maybe have a jet ski or ski boat with us for fun on the water.
Once we get a head count a deposit will be required as we will be reserving on our card. Because we are both certified for houseboat operation we will get the discount if we rent it.
Who wants to spend a week naked on beautiful Lake Powell?

Lake Powell is great that time of year. Have done it a couple of times. Best week with others we ever did.
Different couple does dinner every night.
But I dont want to rain on the parade. But the water level is not that high yet. Its 200 feet down. We need a few more seasons like this year.
What about a trip to a resort ? We just contacted Blue Bonnet Resort in Texas and they had a reservation from a group in Michigan. Resort or a hot springs trip might work great ?
South west or southeast USA. Lots of great places and things to visit
Hi Jim,
Talked to the Marina and the while the water level is still historically low the marina is safe now. This time last year the larger boats were sitting on silt and could not be moved. With the flood release to the Colorado River and taking the ques from Lake Mead, Lake Powell will definitely continue to swell. I am both excited and optimistic that the Lake will have huge gains this year after years of severe drought.
Man, we'd love to but I had a health emergency last month and that ate up all my vacation time. We've done the Powell houseboats a couple times and it's great fun! So if anyone's on the fence, take my word, it's great fun!
I was hoping you 3 would join us...Sorry about your emergency please let us know if we can help you guys!
