Nude Beach
When I was 23, I had the great luck to get a grant to study at the University of Washington in Seattle. At the end of this year, I had the plan to travel across the US to New York and go back to Germany from there. I had a great time. But the life changing experience I had on a hike in Northern California. All of a sudden, I found myself at a little lake where about two handful of people were bathing in the nude. I was pretty shy at that time, but in such a good mood, that I joyned in. Since then, I took every opportunity to be naked and frequently went to nude beaches when I was back in Germany.
In 2012, we were heading up to the Ho Chunk Casino near the Wisconsin Dells for a short weekday getaway. On the way up, we decided to detour and stop at Mazo Beach; surprisingly, the GPS on the phone got us there.
Upon our arrival, we did the 1.2 mile hike from the parking lot to the beach; this was especially difficult for Christine being disabled - she had just her cane with her and there was no place for her to sit and rest along the way. Fortunately, it was August and it had been pretty dry, so the walk down what we later learned was referred to as "the mosquito gauntlet", was not too bad.
At the beach, there were probably 70-80 nude people; Mike got naked and went into the water while Christine stayed fully clothed on the beach, giggling at him. In her entire life, she had never done anything like this before and still wasn't quite certain how she felt about the whole concept.
We stayed for only a couple hours and on the way out, met a real nice couple from Texas who were parked in the handicapped lot next to the beach. They offered us a ride back to our car in the main parking lot, and gave us the contact information to the DNR so Christine could order a disability pass and the key to the gate.
During our stay at the casino, Christine decided that she wanted to go back to Mazo on our way home. We stopped at a Walmart to pick up some beach supplies and she bought a red sundress that was on clearance for $5. While we were driving down US12 back toward Mazo, she changed into swimsuit and put the sundress on over it. (being modest, she kept covering up as cars approached us from a mile away going the other direction - though at a combined passing speed of 110+ mph, it wasn't likely that anyone going the other way could see that she was naked)
Back at the beach, we went into the water; she with her swimsuit on. As we sat on a sandbar with the water almost up to our shoulders, she got brave and lowered her top. She was quite impressed and proclaimed "hey look, my boobs float!!" Ultimately, the whole suit came off and she held onto it so it would not float downstream. Christine realized that the rushing water of the Wisconsin River was actually soothing to her sore hip.
The moment of truth came when it was time to get out. She realized that she could not get her swimsuit back on while in the water, so had to walk naked back to our towels. And nobody stared, or even paid attention to either of us; that relieved most of her fears about nudism.
Being from the Chicago area, Mazo Beach was about a 140 mile one-way trip, but we made many visits there over the next few seasons.
Sadly, the State of Wisconsin ultimately shut it down claiming that it was a haven for drugs and illicit sex; neither of which we ever witnessed.
I've been a social nudist for over a decade, but my first nude beach experience was Hippie Hollow/Lake Travis in March 2018. I'd been hearing about it for years, but I was in Austin for business and I was able to sneak away for an afternoon. I've been back there five times.
My first nude beach experience was over 40 years ago when my wife and I visited Red Rocks beach in Marin County, CA. I was excited to be going but wasn't sure about my wife. I didn't know if she would get naked or not when we got there. When we arrived, there were many cars in the parking lot so we knew that there would be lots of people. We started down the path that led to the beach. When we arrived, we found that the beach is fairly small and there wasn't anyplace to put our blanket that wasn't near other people. We put our towel in a spot between 2 other couples and I started to undress. I looked over and to my surprise, my wife was undressing quicker than me and was already almost naked. Wow! That was very exciting for me that she was into it. Soon we were both laying there on our backs soaking up the sun. Being first timers it was quite a thrill. Seeing my wife naked among the other people was great. We both loved the experience and the feeling of being naked with others at a beach.
I just had my first nude experience on a beach last week. The beach I was on the tide goes out really far (about a mile) so I was right out at the waters edge and spent about 2 miles walking like this. There was a lovely breeze and warm but not too hot that I'd turn in to a lobster. I loved how it felt and how natural it felt too and I'm fairly sure I'll repeat it.
It's not a nudist beach which is why I went out to the waters edge as I didn't want to take the chance of offending anyone, when I looked back at the each anyone on it was just a tiny dot so I figured I would be too.
My first true nude beach experience was shortly after I moved to Florida in 2016. I went to Apollo Beach, which was the closest one for me. I think I was able to get a parking spot in the nude section parking lot, but that's a rarity at Apollo!
I absolutely loved the experience. The quiet, natural beach appeals to me way more than one with a lot of "amenities"... which I think detracts from the beauty and peace of the beach. Apollo is small, but extremely busy most of the time, but I was able to find my own space without being right on top of somebody else. While walking along the water, a really nice guy struck up a conversation and walked with me offering guidance about this and other nude beaches. Later in the day, an older couple approached me with a much appreciated bottle of Gatorade. I had previous experience with indoor nude socialization, but Florida nude beach goers are above and beyond in terms of friendliness and helping you integrate into the fold...

For Marie and I it was going out to the Verde hot springs in Arizona. Its an old hotel that burned down in the fifties.
The hot springs are naturally fed from the ground. But it was our first time there and knew that people get naked. So when we showed up I took my pack off and dropped my shorts. Lol. Marie was mad at me for not waiting for her to get her clothes off. Well she finally took her bottoms off. She felt bad about not having a teenagers body anymore. Lol Well after a while she took her top off also and we have not stopped since.
Going to the California beach (San Orefre). Just north of Camp Pendleton was great. Met a family right off that have stayed friends for twenty years now. We loved walking along the shore and watching the waves for hours. We got our best tans there.
