Nude hiking in the Charlottesville, Virginia area
I need to explore Charlottesville when its cold and scope out off trail places. Here in Richmond Ive gone down the RR tracks which are unused on the south side of the river during the day. There are places to sit on a towel or tie a hammock next to the river. The views are wonderful.
I need other nudist friends down here. Ive yet to visit Ivor for the nudist camp there. In light of that Im more of a naked in nature type of nudist and not one of the hang out by the pool types.
Three words -- Blue Ridge Mountains! Both the Skyline Drive and The Blue Ridge Parkway are federal land and as such, nude-friendly for hiking. Be respectful to fellow hikers and campers and everything will be grand up in those lovely old mountains for your bare buns to be out. Personal favorite hike of mine for the naked is on the Skyline Drive, around milepost 95, a very short hike at just over two miles round trip called Turk Mountain, up to almost 3000 ft at the top with amazing views in every direction and a great rocky top made for exploring and bouldering if you're into that nude. Never bothered by anyone about hiking without my bottoms on there, and a fabulous place to suntan and read and write down in the boulder field. Try it out!

Are you aware that White Tail is mostly nudity required?

No, not even once have I ever run into other nudists on the Turk Mt. hiking trail. It would have been a hoot to, though! The idea to make it my go-to naked trail mostly stemmed from its closeness to my home at the time. Besides the trail's relative obscurity and small parking lot, the first tenth of a mile it shares its path with the Appalachian Trail, then sends the hiker off on a spur that brings them down a transom and then up and up until the vista opens at the top, all only about a mile from the asphalt. I would mostly go on the weekdays to avoid the crowd, and if there were no other cars in the parking area, I knew that there was very little chance of coming up on anyone. Once past the fork from the AT, I would stash my shorts behind a tree and let the breeze blow past my balls the whole way, my longish shirttails getting the bottom button snapped closed in case of the interaction with a late hiker noticing my bottomlessness.
So don't get the wrong idea -- Turk was my naturist trail, not one known for naked notoriety by anyone else. Seniorfitnudist was contemplating hikes in the Cville area for nudists. There are many nice trails around that town and countryside, and not a single one of which affords a safe act of social bareness without the worry of indecent exposure charges if (s)he's caught. Charlottesville is sometimes referred to as "the last bastion of [political] liberalism in central Virginia", though anyone who's been a part of the nude scene for very long knows that plenty of social nudists are utterly far, far away from the politically liberal among us. Note that there are still plenty of 'Karens' and 'Kyles' around town with their obnoxious cellphones in hand as they do their walking exercises, more than ready to quickly film you traipsing down the Meadowcreek Parkway Trail sans clothes and getting you promptly tossed in the regional jail. I am giving 'Senior' an option ~ a thirty minute drive west and some National park land, where just being nude in the woods without any misbehavior is perfectly legal and quite safe. I'll add that there's more chance of bear interaction than any of the mutually-bare, human sort on Turk! And during wild blueberry season, please leave most of that delicious fruit to the black bears. Bring you own snacks!
