Plank for Strength
Plank (sanskrit: Phalankasana) is probably one of the most basic strengthening poses in yoga. You see non-yogis do this all the time, sometimes even competing to see who can hold the longest. They do this on their elbows too. An Australian did a plank for 9.5 hours. I can't even imagine trying that for 10 minutes. I guess I should try some day.
Keys: look forward, not down or to your toes. Rotate biceps forward and elbows back. Pull shoulder blades back and down. Engage torso and legs.
