Why a Hat?

When I first went to the nude beach at Sandy Hook NJ (Gunnison) I realized that I had a hard time remembering people. The grey-haired man or woman was an inadequate descriptor an the weekday afternoon beach was near 100% grey-haired men or women. I noticed a variety of hats, so I chose a cap with a yellow beak to identify myself. It is an idea I recommend to anyone. even if not grey-haired.

RE:Why a Hat?

Inciteful, thank you. As a senior citizen myself, I have been wondering how and where nude beaches would be available within my scope of travels. I have never been to a nude beach where the demographics reflect my age. My wife has never been skinny dipping at all. Though she is open to the idea, you never know what your reaction will be til you experience it. I suspect that a place where everyone looks to be in the same cohort as you, as you suggest weekdays on Gunnison Beach do, would be more attractive and comfortable, Your idea of a yellow-billed cap so others could remember you suggests that you would like to remember others too when there are repeat encounters. Not that I am denigrating younger members of TN; I envy and respect you for having made the plunge to nudism an earlier age. But I will be sure to wear a cap or hat of a different color than yelllow so others wont confuse me with you.

I always take a hat to the beach - a lack of hair up top makes it essential. Never thought of it as an identifier, but it makes sence, and perhaps more polite than referring by body shape!
