Pigeon for Back Pain
Back pain is a debilitating condition that greatly reduces quality of life. When combined with sciatic pain down one or both legs, it is also immobilizing. For many of us, the sciatic nerve is intertwined with the piriformis muscle. This muscle externally rotates and extends the femur. It is also a major contributor to back pain.

Hands down, the best possible pose that stretches the piriformis is Pigeon pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana). It internally rotates the femur thereby stretching the piriformis and gluteus muscles. Gluteus medius in particular contributes to back pain as well.

Oh yeah! Love Pigeon Pose! It is a great way to open my hips and help my flexibility. And doing it nude is even better. I know I'm getting into it deeper when my cock and balls hits the mat! LOL
