Weather permitting

People have asked what exactly does Weather Permitting mean .? Well, we sail based on tide, wind and rain. A little rain is normal, but being on an aluminum boat when lightning strikes is foolish. Waves over 1.5 feet can be troublesome, and they cloud the beach water. A wonderful sea breeze of 5 knots is delightful , but winds over 10 mph are bothersome. Experience has shown that winds over 8 mph usually start white caps, which is exciting , and reason enough to head for port when waves reach 2 feet. So, all in all, we are fair weather boaters who like to have fun , and not battle the sea, thank you very much.
