My favourite shirt is just long enough to keep the key parts out of sight when I stand upright but don't lift my shoulders. Just right to pass others on textile beachside trails.
I have multiple shirts like that. A couple I have actually worn on the beach, around the hotel, at the hotel bar and even to a convenience store, as well as a restaurant and bar. Ive even eaten at restaurants wearing only the shirt and flip flops.

Yes, it does help to make us less obvious (that we were nude at the bottom) and especially on a cool and windy day, to keep us warm. I would still be naked (although not completely), felt carefree, and relaxed.
