Saying goodbye to our best friends

Well I have to say goodbye to my friend Wednesday. He has cancer ! Its one of the toughest things Ive ever had to do in my life. But I am for the first time going to have my friend cremated. Then have his ashes for me.
My next door friends always adopt an older friend who nobody wants. They give them a great end to their lives. They even make a beautiful memorial display for each friend. I wonder about any good ideas for my friend from you all.

RE:Saying goodbye to our best friends

I'm sorry about Wednesday's condition and the tough decision you had to make. Several years ago I founded a non-profit that provided hospice to senior, small-breed dogs. We would have a professional portrait done of each dog in our care that passed and built a memorial to remember them. I also had an "Angel's Rest" area along my back fence with a garden bridge to represent the Rainbow Bridge. Each dog had a windchime dedicated to them along with a rock with their name painted on it. I had to stop operations for a combination of reasons but regardless, there are many, many ways you can remember Wednesday. Condolences, my friend.

So sorry Jim. He was a great companion. Good dogs are special.

My heart goes out to you, Jim. A dog is so special and a very close, loving friend. I have no suggestions for his memorial, but tell us his name. Your friend in San Antonio, Mary Anne

We've kept the ashes of several long-term much loved pets. It helps us, especially at first. We may bury them eventually, but for now they help with the good memories.
