Sleeping
For decades I've slept in just a t-shirt or tank top. Since I live in a cool climate and in an unheated house, it's the perfect way to stay comfortably warm, but feel naked. Particularly for men, the sense of nakedness comes from genital exposure, and going to bed naked below the waist gives me the same feeling, and freedom from restriction, as being fully nude.

I actually find shirts more restrictive than loose shorts so it wouldn't work for me.
I actually slept in just shorts for several years during my progression from full pajamas to nude.
At 68 years old I think I've slept nude for probably 40 years. My ex wife always wore pajamas but my ex husband and I always slept nude.Steve
34 years of sleeping nude for me. My wife usually wears pajamas but sometimes just a t-shirt in warm weather, rarely nude.
I usually sleep naked but if I need PJs for social reasons I prefer a night shirt that's not constricted at the waist. This one is exceptionally high quality (likely since it's not intended as PJs): https://eastessence.com/products/mens-everyday-wear-chambray-dusty-pink-kurta-with-pockets-dme-01
I have been sleeping nude for 50 years and even when I visit non-nudist people usually have enough privacy to sleep nude. Not long ago I was sharing a room with a non-nudist friend who was quite comfortable with my nudity from bed to bathroom in our room. If needed, I would probably opt for underwear/tee. I used to have a nightshirt but found that I got really tangled up in it. Would prefer not to invest in PJs that will take up space in a drawer.
I've slept nude most of my life. I can't sleep with anything on below my waist. IF I have to sleep in a non-nudist situation (which hasn't happened in many years) I'll wear a shirt that is long enough to cover my "parts" if I need to be around others. In bed I pull it up above my waist to sleep
