What is the legal status of driving nude in NSW?
As you probably know, in the US it varies by state.

Minimalist, I have yet to OFFICIALLY verify it BUT it is my understanding (and belief) that it is totally LEGAL to drive naked in New South Wales. Last year I watched a television episode of "State Patrol" in which an officer pulled a man over for a minor violation ( he had a broken tail light) and he was totally naked. When he was stopped, he pulled a small towel over his lap. He passed the officer's portable breathalyzer and the officer gave him a "fix-it" ticket and sent him on his way... all on a statewide televised program. NO mention was made of the fact that the gentleman was driving nude.

One of the houses in my neighborhood sold recently and the new owner is a police officer. I fully intend to get HIS input on the question! I may have to get to KNOW HIM a bit before I tactfully and diplomatically pose the question to him but, given that I like to drive naked quite a bit AND I don't want to be misled by what I saw on television, I am VERY interested in what he knows of the legality of nude driving in New South Wales!

As far as I know ( See the previous reply to Minimalist) WE are fortunate that nude driving is legal in our state! Living in what I consider to be a bit of a RURAL area, driving from home to Sydney involves driving through the town and a bit of the countryside to get to the freeway, and then a 3 hour drive to the city. The last time I did that drive, I managed to go portal-to-portal, totally naked. I got naked BEFORE I got in my car in my driveway... and STAYED naked until I got to my destination in Sydney. Loved it!
