Hell everyone and thanks for the add on, I havent got a pet photo to show just yet but as soon as I do Ill put one up.
I have a Maltese/shitzu cross whos 14 and not long to go, his back legs are almost useless and he has the occasional toilet accident but hes still eating well and drinks plenty of water, he even still likes to play but Im in a dilemma about when is enough, enough to keep him going while he still appears happy ? or help him over the rainbow bridge. I keep thinking am I being fair to him or am I just being selfish in not wanting to let him go ? The vet assures me hes in no pain and his paralysis in the bag legs is due to age and natural muscle wastage, I carry him out to toilet every couple of hours and help him to stand but I am in two minds whether even this is being fair to him.
Your thoughts please.
Pain for an animal is the important part of life.
I just lost my friend to cancer and he didnt want to stop playing. But there was nothing for us to do ! Stupid cancer ! Hard to do ? Hard to pick the day, is so painful for us. But its part of having a best friend.
They do make diapers for dogs for the help with taking him outside. But pet him a lot and take pictures. It does help !
