Haulover

Is it safe to leave phone, wallet, etc in your shorts pocket when swimming and walking. I would be arriving by bus or Lyft so leaving them in my car would not be an option.

RE:Haulover

In 22+ years of going to Haulover, I have never had anything stolen. I always set up very close to a lifeguard tower. While it is not their job to watch out for thieves, the presence of a potential witness is a bit of a deterrent. I do know several people that have had things like phones and wallets stolen and met one guy several years ago that had his keys stolen and then the thieves scoured the parking lot and stole his car.
I know a former lifeguard that has reported many thefts to the police along with cell phone pics that led to arrests and recovery of the items.
The bottom line is There is a lot of security there, Lifeguards, Police, and the Beach Ambassadors, but there are a lot of shady people there too.
