Columbia/Greater Columbia Area, South Carolina

I recently moved back to South Carolina after spending many years away and I'm hoping to meet some new people and build a new social circle here, but it seems to be a little harder than expected. What are some of the better camps/resorts/areas around here (that isn't Travelites) that you would recommend. I don't mind traveling in the tri-state area (South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia) when I have the free time. I'm in my mid-30's but age isn't a big deal to me.
